Maciej Zieliński
Maciej Zieliński shares his experiences in blending different musical styles. He also talks about the activities of the newly formed Film Composers Circle at the Polish Filmmakers Association, which aims to strengthen composers' position in the industry.
Film composers often join productions too late in the process and lack sufficient influence over the final shape of the film. This led to the creation of "Best Practices Guide," designed to improve collaboration between filmmakers and composers by involving them in the early stages of production.
The conversation explores institutional support for film music - for instance, following the French model, where special programs for composers exist. Film music festivals also play a vital role, not only popularizing the genre but creating spaces for direct interactions between creators and their audience.
